As autumn settles in, there’s nothing quite like a steaming bowl of soup or a hearty meal to warm you up on a chilly day. BudaPart’s restaurants and cafés are getting into the autumn spirit too, with seasonal chef’s specials, freshly baked goods and delicious fall-inspired coffee creations. We’ve rounded up six spots at BudaPart where you can make the most of autumn and enjoy the seasonal flavours that make this time of year so special.
1. ZAZIE Bistro & Bar
Located on the ground floor of MOL Campus, ZAZIE Bistro & Bar is the go-to spot for classic Hungarian dishes with a modern twist. This autumn, the Michelin-recommended restaurant is taking things a step further with chef’s specials that bring together hearty seasonal ingredients and exciting flavour combinations.
The seasonal specials include a creamy cauliflower soup with ginger, almonds and parsley, as well as a beetroot risotto with goat’s cheese and pine nuts. From the regular menu, the dry-aged duck breast is another great choice for autumn, served with homemade potato dumplings and slow-roasted sour cherries. With plenty of seasonal flavours to choose from, ZAZIE is the perfect spot for both a weekday lunch and a relaxed dinner.

2. VIRTU Restaurant
Located on the 28th floor of MOL Campus, VIRTU Restaurant brings together Hungarian culinary traditions and the best seasonal ingredients in its autumn menu. And to make the experience even more special, the Michelin-recommended restaurant offers one of the most stunning panoramic views of Budapest.
This October, chef Levente Lendvai’s special menu, titled “Dömötör’s Heritage”, pays tribute to Hungary’s shepherding traditions and the end of the farming season. Highlights include marbled sheep’s cheese with roasted beetroot salad and candied walnuts, oxtail served with polenta and pickled plums, and lamb loin with charred broccoli, mint velouté and pistachios. The à la carte menu also features plenty of autumn favourites, from pumpkin consommé to duck breast served with polenta, orange-infused carrots and saffron.

3. Le Bistro – Kitchen & More
The autumn chef’s specials at Le Bistro are all about seasonal ingredients and hearty, comforting dishes. The menu features a venison ragout soup with tarragon and mini potato dumplings, as well as chicken breast with balsamic figs and Camembert cheese, or venison leg served with a traditional vadas sauce and toasted bread dumplings on the side.
To finish it all off, the seasonal menu offers a cinnamon and plum crumble served with vanilla ice cream. With its location right by the Danube, Le Bistro is also a great spot to stop by during an autumn walk. And thanks to its covered terrace, you can still enjoy the riverside atmosphere even as the weather gets cooler.

4. Salve Pizza Napoletana
Neapolitan pizza is a favourite all year round, but there’s something even more comforting about a freshly baked, hearty pizza on a chilly autumn day. At Salve Pizza Napoletana, pizzas are made with long-fermented dough and quality Italian ingredients.
This autumn, the Cotto e Funghi with ham and mushrooms is a great choice, as is the Quattro with scamorza, fior di latte, gorgonzola and Parmesan. And if you're in the mood for more than just pizza, there's also a selection of Italian starters, salads and desserts to choose from.

5. Café Ponyvaregény
At Café Ponyvaregény, it’s easy to stay a little longer than planned. With its cosy interior and stacked up board games on the shelves, it’s the perfect spot for a long chat over coffee.
Their seasonal special is a chestnut latte – creamy, sweet and inspired by the traditional Hungarian chestnut purée dessert, making it the perfect choice for a chilly autumn afternoon. And if you want to make the most of the autumn sunshine, you can also enjoy it on the terrace overlooking the Danube.

6. Dobay Cukrászda és Pékség
At Dobay Cukrászda és Pékség, the autumn menu is all about seasonal fruits and sweet treats that are perfect for those colder days. One of the latest additions is the Aranykörte, a dessert that combines a crunchy caramel layer, smooth mascarpone cream and pear filling with ginger and cinnamon. Another autumn classic is the apple strudel, made this year with apples from Mohács Island and full of warm, comforting flavours.
To go with the desserts, you can now also enjoy hot lemonade in apple-ginger or strawberry flavours – a great way to warm up after a chilly walk along the Danube. And if you’re stopping by for lunch, there’s plenty to choose from, including poke bowls with chicken, salmon or goat’s cheese, warm soups and hearty sandwiches. Whether it’s a quick weekday lunch or a relaxed afternoon coffee break, Dobay is a great spot to visit this autumn.
