Head outdoors! Here’s how to make the most of the good weather at BudaPart

With Kopaszi-gát, waterfront promenades, buzzing restaurants and cafés, and a lively community scene, BudaPart offers the perfect urban escape to make the most of the warmer months – whether you’re planning a weekend stroll or just looking to recharge after a long day.

A picnic by the water

Few things feel as effortlessly enjoyable as spreading out a blanket, sharing a few delicious bites, and soaking up the sunshine. With its landscaped green spaces and the nearby Kopaszi-gát, BudaPart is the ideal setting for a recharging picnic. From several points along the area, you can make your way down to the waterfront and take in the views right by the Danube. In case you’d rather not prepared your own picnic basket, a great alternative is to pick one up from Café Ponyvaregény – listed by welovebudapest.hu among the city’s top picnic spots (picnic basket offers here) – or to order one from Fruska Bistro.

Badminton, running and a beachside experience

Warmer days are not only for unwinding, but they're also the perfect opportunity to get active outside. Badminton, for example, is a great choice for anyone looking for some light outdoor activity rather than a serious workout. It takes little preparation, gets you moving, lifts your mood, and is an easy activity to enjoy with kids as well.

At BudaPart, you can try paddleboarding, with training sessions offered by SUP-port SC (more information here). There are morning, pre-work, and afternoon sessions available.

Lágymányosi Spari is a long-established local sports club and a hub for kayaking, canoeing and dragon boating. On weekdays, hobby training sessions are held between 5 pm and 8 pm, and those with enough experience can also rent a kayak or canoe.

BudaPart’s running track has also been recently renewed. The nearly 450-metre running loop starts near the area in front of Dürer Kert, follows the plane tree-lined stretch along Öböl Street, and strecthes out all the way to Teknős-öböl. With the waterfront close by, green surroundings and a peaceful atmosphere, a run here offers an easy escape from the hustle of everyday life.

BudaPart also offers a beachside experience right on the waterfront: Flava Beach has already opened, with programme details available here.

Yoga, meditation and recharging outdoors

For those looking to slow down, BudaPart also offers the perfect setting to do just that. Yoga is one of the best ways to switch off mentally – whether as part of an organised class or through individual practice. All you really need is a yoga mat, comfortable clothing and a few quiet moments to relax and reset. For anyone who prefers a guided session, Jógapart is an ideal choice, offering both morning and evening classes every day of the week.

Beyond yoga, meditation, breathing exercises or simply taking a few minutes to pause can also make a real difference. Not every moment needs to be planned. Sometimes, it’s enough to put your phone away, sit by the water, and allow yourself a little time to recharge.

Reading, book clubs and community moments

A good book can be the perfect companion when you’re in the mood to slow down, especially the one you’ve been meaning to read for a while now. The area offers an ideal setting for a little solitude and quiet time, but it can also be a great place to turn reading into a shared experience. Book clubs can easily be organised in one of the local cafés, breakfast spots or restaurants, such as Café Ponyvaregény, Zazie, Dobay Cukrászda or The DAM_n Good Place.

But in case you forgot to bring a book, there’s good news: one of the Bookline Lapozó book exchange stations is located at Kopaszi-gát and is free to use. You can take a book with you at no cost, simply by leaving another one behind in exchange. This way, the selection is constantly refreshed, giving future visitors just as many books to choose from as you had.

Activities for children and the whole family

In addition to the activities already mentioned, it’s also worth keeping an eye on Dürer Kert’s programme calendar, which regularly features events and concerts for children.
On Children's Day, Kopaszi Kert is treating the little ones to a special program: the whole family is guaranteed to have a great time at the BABY RAVE event.
These events are a great reason for families to make more of their visit, turning a simple walk into a full morning or afternoon out. While children can enjoy the activities, parents can make the most of BudaPart’s cafés, restaurants and services, all just a short walk away.
